The Physiotherapy Department
Physiotherapy is a clinical health science, a branch of physical medicine aimed at rehabilitating and improving the quality of life and function of people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, and education. Our treatments include the use of electrotherapy equipment such as Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machine, heat therapy and cervical traction.
The department has two major units which are the gymnasium and the treatment cubicles for electrotherapy. A mini unit has been improvised to cater for pediatric cases on out-patient basis. The department also has a team that attends to cases on the ward that are referred to us. The department is still at its formative stage of the mobile unit which aims at seeing seniormost police officers in their homes, in the situation where it is impossible for them to come to the department.
The physiotherapy department’s objectives being:
- To provide best care with best practices to our clients
- To avoid long waiting time and delays in the treatment of clients.
- The department runs a total of 40 hours per week spread across five working days (Monday to Friday) starting work at 7am - 3pm
