The Anaesthesia department
Anaesthesia deals with the medical science of providing a safe and reliable space for surgeries, emergencies, critical care and recovery.
The Anaesthesia Department is responsible for providing anaesthesia for patients coming in for surgeries and procedures as well as those in need of intensive care and comprehensive pain management. In keeping with global standards of best practice, patient safety is our prime concern.
The Department is currently headed by C/Supt Dr.(Med) Kwame Ayisi.

The three (3) main Units
Intensive Care Unit (Critical Care)
Intensive Care Unit : we have a 3 bed ICU with state of the art equipment for the care of the critically ill. It operates 24hrs
Perioperative Unit
Runs clinic for the pre-operative assessment of patients coming in for surgery on Monday and Thursday 10am to 1pm.
Pain clinic
Offers best-in-class pain control for patients in need of it, for both acute and chronic pain.
